My Poem: Birthday Storm
wind
rain
till the force of nature
breaks your windows
down to the basement
never ending staircase
they huddle
in the closet
next to others
drink nothing except
the tears streaming down
taste the saltiness on your tongue
cry
words of comfort
from parents and elders
hold back
tears
